Altria Pendragon Alter (Rider, Summer 2017)

Altria Alter’s main defining feature is her high NP damage, thanks to her skills’ buffs. With all her skills activated, its damage is comparable to even the NP5 values of Kintoki Rider, at first glance her main rival (53.4k to his 55.8k). Aside from this, she possesses a moderate amount of team support functions, thanks to her Quick buff, cooldown reduction and star generation buff. Of note is the cooldown reduction, which theoretically allows her to stack her third skill twice.

Being a Rider, she also possesses high critical star weight, allowing her to amplify her NP gain and overall damage somewhat via critical hits, the latter of which is aided by her high rank Independence Action skill. Her Quick buffs and second skill’s critical generation buff (should it be used on herself) aids her in generating critical stars, in turn helping her criticals’ reliability.

Unfortunately, although she possesses decent hitcounts, her base NP gain is on the lower side, meaning her NP cannot keep up with her third skill’s low cooldown without external help. Additionally, while her cooldown reduction may prove invaluable for certain Servants (particularly those with defensive skills, such as Merlin’s Invulnerability), there are currently few of these available for Quick-inclined parties.

• Not many Quick Servants currently benefit from her cooldown reduction.
• Little to no defensive function outside of NP’s critical chance down.

Altria Alter is best used in Quick-oriented teams, alongside critical generators and supporting Servants. If pairing her with another damage dealer, it is recommended to choose one with a critical absorption skill, in order to seize critical stars away from Altria’s high critical weight.

Sequence Morgan: Tenacious Blaze of the Sword of Promised Victory is a Quick-type single target Noble Phantasm, which grants a 10% NP gauge refund and applies a critical chance reduction on the target. While the 10% NP charge is generally rather minor, in the face of Altria’s low NP gain rate, it is a welcomed addition, and critical chance reductions are rather useful in harder battles. Above all, however, Sequence Morgan also has rather notable damage due to Altria’s personal buffs.

• Summer Sweeper! A

  This skill’s buffs last for three turns, increasing the whole party’s Quick performance, additionally increasing Altria Alter’s attack as well. Being essentially a 50% buff skill lasting for three turns, this skill should be leveled first.

• Coaching A

  This skill reduces the cooldowns of an ally’s skill by 1 turn, and increases their critical star generation rate at the cost of 1000 HP. While Cooldown reduction may be beneficial for certain Servants, few, if any, currently exist among Quick-oriented Servants. As such, this skill should be leveled last.

• Reloaded C

  Grants a one-hit Quick performance buff that lasts for three turns. Its low cooldown is counterweighted by the fact that the buff only applies for one Quick card. This skill should be leveled second.

Altria Alter’s QQAAB deck means that she possesses four NP gauge-generating cards, somewhat making up for her low NP generation rate. The two Quick cards also allow her to generate some amount of stars, and the two Arts cards allow her to create Arts chains more easily. However, the lack of Buster cards impair her critical damage potential somewhat.
