Minamoto’s skillset is highly offensive at a glance, begging for a buster support to assist her. She functions as the typical crit-buster lancer, dealing devastating damage to archers. Her first skill ensures that she crits reliably, and crits hard. Her second makes sure no meddlesome debuffs get in the way of her damage, while further boosting her buster damage to an acceptable level. This can also be applied to other servants, allowing her to serve as a semi-buster support if required. Her last skill gives a flat damage increase to the party while also increasing stargen which helps Minamoto crit even more. With low cooldowns and slightly above average numbers, she is most definitely a lancer to roll for.
Her star and np generation stats are skyhigh, allowing her to tie with King Hassan in terms of NP generation. Her quick cards are also very usable, boosted by her passive skill Riding A+. With a pretty decent hit count, she can also generate a decent amount of stars.
Her skillset meshes extremely well with our favourite mage, Merlin. When paired together in a team she can most definitely dish out skyhigh damage. Minamoto is by far the best 4★ summer servant as well as being an amazing 4★ lancer. She sets the standard for future summer servants.
Pros
Able to provide damage support to fellow servants.
Has a skillset which ensures she will crit with high numbers.
Her deck has 2 buster cards, allowing her to buster chain with her NP.
High damage output due to her passive and active skills.
Cons
She has no sustainability during long fights.
She relies on either good team support or lucky card draws to fill up her NP gauge.
Strategies & Tips
Minamoto likes to be paired with a support who can provide sustain while also boosting her damage. She focuses on a crit and buster based damage set. Her 3rd skill should be used to assist in generating stars and her first following that to ensure she gets to crit. Her 2nd skill should be used before either a buster chain or her Noble Phantasm.
Noble Phantasm
Shaku Daikanin Vajra is a single target buster NP which ignores defense buffs. This can be extremely helpful against enemies who enjoy spamming defense buffs. Her damage multiplier is at a respectable level and her overcharge effect is situationally helpful, granting more crit stars which is incredibly helpful to her set.
An obligatory pick with any servant with decent buster damage, Merlin is a great support who can provide everything that Minamoto lacks. With his NP he can provide the sustain that minamoto is sorely lacking. He also supplements her NP gain ensuring she can fire off those NPs, and gives a nice amount of crit stars to keep the damage coming. His buffs ensure her buster and damage stay sky high while also protecting her and keeping her stargen up.
Nightingale is not used as much but she can provide the things that Minamoto sorely needs. She can top up Minamoto’s health in a tight spot while also making sure that she pushes out nice damage with her Buster buffs. Her noble phantasm also provides further healing and clears any debuffs that might show up after Minamoto uses her second skill.
Jack the ripper is a must have in any self-respecting crit team. With jack’s crit gen, Minamoto will almost always be critting with no problems, while also topping up her NP gauge with consistent crits. Her 3rd skill can occasionally heal Minamoto even if it isn’t that high.
MHXA is a recently strengthened servant who provides a nice support to Minamoto. She can assist using her 3rd skill to focus all the stars towards Minamoto while also buffing her attack up. On top of that, her 2nd skill can give a large flux of critical stars. MHXA’s berserker class also has a low star weight, ensuring that Minamoto will receive them. She pushes out a nice amount of damage alongside Minamoto and also generates a nice amount of crit stars.
Victor from the moon is no doubt one of the best Craft essences on Minamoto. Boasting a combination of buster damage and crit damage up, this CE complements her set extremely well and ensures she keeps her numbers high.
Joint recital is very similar to victor from the moon, Giving slightly more focus to the buster damage as compared to crit damage. This is only advised when you are less confident in critting and want more flat damage.
Holy night supper is a more NP focused CE, giving Minamoto bonus NP charge at the beginning of the battle. This ensures she is able to use her NP early on, on top of the damage boost to her NP as well as boosting her crit damage.
Wolves of mibu is a less popular CE but works well with Minamoto especially since it’s easy to Limit break. With a bonus to Quick and Buster cards which are her main source of damage output, it ensures a high amount of consistent damage. The crit stars each turn also help make sure she crits more often and more easily.
When equipped to Yorimitsu (Lancer) only, while that servant is on the filed, increase Quick & Buster Card effectiveness by 10% for all allies.

Wrought Iron Handcart C
This skill is Minamoto’s main source of damage, buffing up her NP and her most powerful cards. With this skill lasting 3 turns, at max level you will only have around 3 turns without this buff. Being able to be placed on other servants, this skill is highly flexible and should be leveled first.
Summer catastrophe EX
This skill gives a flat boost to the entire team’s damage while also ensuring that crit stargen does not slack. The attack reaches the standard 20% boost to the team while the stargen only hits around 30%. As such this skill should be levelled second.
Public morals committee Chairman’s shadow A
While this skill does boost Minamoto’s critical damage, at level 1 it already provides a very nice star absorption buff. However, these effects only last one turn, as such, it should be leveled last.
