Altria Pendragon (Santa Alter)

Unlike her Saber counterparts, Altria Santa Alter is actually one of the more powerful versions among her incarnations. She doesn’t really do much outside of acting as a damager or a waveclearer, but she has great value as one due to the fact that she hits very well without costing for too much. Despite being an old Servant she benefits from her class and deck in that she is able to fit in the powerful Buster meta, which prevents her from becoming entirely outdated.

• Has a targetable 3500HP heal skill with a decent cooldown
• Her Rider class can make use of her Instinct skill better than her Saber counterparts

• Lacks a hard counter defensive skill
• Does not have means to counter gimmicks from challenge quests

As an AoE Servant, Santa Alter is usually relegated to clearing waves. However, due to the power of her NP and the decently common boss rush scenario, Altria is still able to act efficiently as a damager.

Her kit allows her to charge her NP at a well enough pace, which grants her the possibility of performing good-powered NP Buster chains. As a Rider her instinct skill is also somewhat more usable, as she has the proper star absorption rate to make use of the stars she is able to produce, which grants her access to the potential of doing Buster crits.

Santa is simple that way, and she doesn’t really do much outside of performing her role well at little costs. Although, if one was to point out her largest weakness, it would be the fact that she doesn’t have utility to counter gimmicks, which are fairly common these days. However, she does have a great targetable heal that allows her to aid your team’s sustain, which can ease the burden of keeping your team alive.

Excalibur Morgan hits as the 2nd most powerful AoE NP among all the Riders ingame. It places at an impressive 33k at NP5, which is actually already at the same level as an average ST NP. This is probably because of the fact that her multiplier at NP5 is 650%, which actually surpasses the multipliers of upgraded AoE Buster NPs. It being a Buster NP also allows her to create NP Buster braves with it, which can boost her overall damage even further. Sadly, the secondary effect is hardly worth taking note of.

While most targetable heal skills cap at 3000HP, this one heals for 3500HP at max level. The extra 500HP is a fairly meager amount to be honest, but sometimes that small amount can settle decisive moments in battle. It also provides a small boost in star generation to the targeted ally, which can be useful depending on your team’s setup. It’s not exactly an amazing heal skill compared to most, but it comes with good bonuses without sacrificing cooldown time.

Instinct A / Cooldown: 7-5
Receive critical stars

Instinct isn’t exactly something that works well with 90% of the Servants that have it, as it’s meager effects make it undesirable for use when compared to the cost of leveling it to max. However, Santa Alter is a Rider, and while that doesn’t change the cost-efficiency rate of the skill, it does make the actual effect more worthwhile. Having a Rider’s innate high absorption rate benefits Santa in giving her access to Buster chains, which allows her to make use of the skill better as she has more access to crits.

Increase in Buster Performance (1 turn)

Much like with most old Servants, this skill is fairly standard in being a 1 turn damage boost. Although it scales for 5% less at max level than her Saber counterparts, the fact that this skill is paired with her NP5’s 650% multiplier and access to crits, it actually allows her to deal potentially more overall with much more ease.

Just like her Saber counterparts, Santa comes with QAABB deck, which is very nice for her. Having 2 Arts cards allows her to charge her gauge decently enough, and having 2 Busters allow her to do heavy damage on Buster chains with her NP. Although her NP gain and star generation isn’t amazing, the deck fits with her overall use.
