The swimsuit version of Emperor Nero possesses the balanced QAABB deck. Along with her notable NP generation rate also comes a 50% instant NP gain skill (with a 50% NP gain bonus at half HP or lower), enabling Nero to perform her Noble Phantasm very reliably. The fact that she has high-ranking Riding and Territory Creation skills also contribute to this boon. Her second skill allows her to take neutral damage from enemies with class advantage; combined with the skill’s defense up and her third skill’s Guts, Nero is able to survive even in a Rider-heavy map. Still adding further to her reliability is her NP’s built-in Invincibility break, meaning that neither Invincibility nor Evade can stop her from dealing damage. As her third skill is targetable, Nero also performs well as a secondary damage dealer.
As with all other damage dealer Casters, however, the 0.9 damage modifier plagues Nero as well, as her Buster cards do not benefit from her Riding and Territory Creation skills. Additionally, as her Noble Phantasm is AoE, its damage is nowhere near impressive, being mediocre at best even with her third skill’s buff - which possesses a very long cooldown. While the fact that she can perform her NP much more often compared to other Damage Dealers means that she will be able to perform more brave chains, she needs a supporting ally to be truly effective.

Strategies & Tips
Nero should be used alongside damage-supporting Servants with at least two Arts cards. She mainly aims to use her wonderful Noble Phantasm charging rate to create as many Brave chains as possible. Her skill is mainly used for the damage buff, although it is possible to use it for the Guts effect when necessary.
Noble Phantasm
Laudarentum Domus Illustrias is a Buster-type AoE damage Noble Phantasm, with the secondary effects of NP damage up and Invincibility Pierce. With a normal, unupgraded AoE modifier and a somewhat low NP damage buff, this NP doesn’t deal impressive amounts of damage. Instead, its main purpose is to be used to start Nero’s Brave chains, granting her easy access to the Buster first card bonus that most Casters lack.
The supreme Buster Servant support, Merlin grants offensive buffs greatly welcomed by Nero. He also amplifies her formidable NP gain, and provides a hard defensive skill in the form of his Invulnerability. The stars he generate also help Nero in performing critical hits.
Nero benefits greatly from Buster buffs, which Nightingale is able to provide. Due to Nero’s tankiness, Nightingale’s heal can be more freely used on herself, and Nightingale’s Berserker class also helps Nero in dealing damage.
Buster Performance As Nero lacks Buster performance buffs, the effect of these Craft Essences scale well with her skillset, and gives her increased damage on both her NP and normal Buster cards.
Critical Absorption Being a Caster, Nero possesses low base critical star weight, meaning that she needs additional help to tap into the vast potential of Buster-inclined critical teams. Seal Designation Enforcer works as well.
NP Damage Up Black Holy Grail and Heaven’s Feel. These Craft Essences are used in compositions maximizing Nero’s high NP gain to make her spam her Noble Phantasm.
When equipped to Nero Claudius (Caster) only, while that servant is on the field, increase Buster Card effectiveness by 10% & NP Gain by 10% for all allies.

This skill is mainly used for the massive instant NP gauge gain, as the rather situational second effect requires her to be at half HP. Still, Nero’s NP gain rate is formidable to begin with, and with supporting allies in the picture, this skill’s relative importance decreases. This skill should be leveled second for general use, though Undying Magus takes precedence if Nero is to be used in more specialized teams.
Seven Crowns C
This skill is Nero’s primary buffing skill, improving both her offense and defense. While her third skill has the better attack buff, it also has a longer cooldown time, meaning that this skill wins in terms of reliability. This skill should be leveled first.
Undying Magus A
This skill is most of the time used for its formidable attack buff. Due to its very long cooldown, however, it is not nearly as reliable as Nero’s second skill, and using the skill twice in a single wave is rather unlikely. As such, this skill can be left alone for general Nero usage (such as farming), but if she is to be used in specialized teams, this skill should be leveled before Runaway Privilege.
