Orion is an Arts-based damage dealer, prized mainly for his powerful Noble Phantasm and Anti-Male skill. Outside of these, he is also one of the tankier Servants, possessing a high HP pool, a defense buff, an Evade skill, with an ATK down on his NP as the cherry on top. Due to Archers’ innately high critical absorb rate as well as the critical damage up from Eye of the Mind and Independent Action, he is one of the best candidates for a critical-focused Arts team.
However, Orion has some rather fatal flaws, the biggest of which is his low NP gain. This is caused by his Arts cards only having 1 hit; thus, his Quick cards interestingly fills more of his NP gauge. Another thing to note that his Anti-Male skill only lasts for one turn, which lessens the benefits he get from Arts team’s fast NP gain.
[JP-Only currently] After the NP Strengthening Quest, Her Noble Phantasm is one of the best in the game, applying two important debuffs as well as surely draining an NP gauge. This allows him to make boss fights much easier.
Pros
Orion’s Noble Phantasm is greatly useful, especially in the lategame.
With two defensive skills outside of his NP, Orion is a very tanky Servant, able to survive for long periods of boss fights.
Her damage output increases significantly when fighting Males.
Cons
Low NP gain from Arts cards makes it so you need a team with good NP gain support to be able to use his NP multiple times.
Needs specific situations to shine.
Tristar Amore Mio’s NP drain is chance-based (Removed after the NP Strengthening Quest).
Strategies & Tips
Orion should be used with a stable Arts team, which would patch his poor NP gain. As he has some critical-inclined properties, he benefits greatly from support Servants who can generate stars, such as Hans. It is possible to include her merely as a Male-killer unit; however, it should be kept in mind that he would need some help in filling her NP gauge.
Noble Phantasm
Tristar Amore Mio is a single-target damage dealing Arts Noble Phantasm, which has a chance to drain an NP charge, aside from applying an ATK debuff to the target. This Noble Phantasm is highly useful in a proper Arts team, limiting the opponent’s damage output and potentially delaying their Noble Phantasm for a turn.
[JP-Only] After the NP Strengthening Quest, as the NP drain effect is no longer chance-based, Tristar Amore Mio is now one of the best single-target Arts Noble Phantasms currently in-game. The additional critical chance debuff is also a mighty addition, as many lategame opponents tend to land more frequent, heavier critical hits.
Tamamo’s Arts buff does wonders on Tristar Amore Mio’s damage, and helps Orion in gaining NP; the NP gauge effect from Eightfold Blessings of Amaterasu also contributes greatly in the latter.
Jeanne is able to provide some amount of stars with her Revelation skill. Combined with her three Arts cards, it also allows Orion to charge his NP faster. The Invulnerability and healing also amplifies Orion’s high survival.
Provides buffs and healing, as well as Arts cards to help Orion’s NP gain. He also has several critical support skills, which also go in hand with Orion’s set.
When equipped to Orion (Archer) only, increase Critical Strength for all allies by 25% while on the field.

Affection of the Goddess EX
This skill grants Orion a 20% ATK buff for three turns, as well as defense and debuff resistance buffs (for 1 turn and 3 turns, respectively). Since the attack buff does not scale with skill level, the value of leveling this skill (other than cooldown) lies in the defense buff’s high percentage, which maxes at 50%. However, the defense buff only lasting for one turn makes this skill secondary to Eye of the Mind as a defensive skill. This skill should be leveled only for the cooldown, though it is Orion’s least situational skill, and as such may be raised first for general usage.
Whimsical Bond A+
Orion’s anti-Male skill increases the damage he deals to males for one turn. The percentage values of this skill is incredible; however, it may be useless in situations where there are no male opponents. This skill should be leveled first if Orion is to perform solely as an anti-Male Servant.
Eye of the Mind (False) B-
An Evasion skill with built-in critical damage buff. This skill provides Orion’s main defensive option against Noble Phantasms, as well as a major damage increase if he is used with a critical-based team. This skill should be leveled first if Orion is put together with a stable Arts teams, especially those with critical star generation functions.

With his double Quick card deck, Orion slightly patches his Arts card’s poor NP generation rate. It also lets him generate some number of stars, and thus makes his critical hits more reliable.
If you don't have Gilgamesh and have a few Saint Quartz or tickets to spend, sure you can go for it and try your luck as she will get an Interlude upgrade to her NP damage in the future as it is quite low right now.
