Shuten Douji is a limited servant and available in some Pickup Summons: Shimousanokuni Pickup Summon.

Shuten Douji is notable for the multitudes of debuffs her NP possesses, as well as her AoE charm. She also performs as a good damage support, as her skills alone provide effectively 40% ATK up for the whole team, with potentially another 10% built-in to her NP. Her QQAAB deck and high hitcounts also allow Shuten to generate a decent amount of stars, particularly on her Brave chains. Aside from these, she is the first SSR Assassin to possess an AoE damaging NP, making her quite effective for farming quests.

However, as with all other Assassins, she suffers from Assassins’ low damage modifier, and her NP’s debuffs’ low magnitude at 10% still leaves something to be desired most of the time. Additionally, most opponents do not rely on their skills, nor are they affected by skill cooldowns - as such, her NP’s Skill Seal does not really help except when fighting select opponents.

Shuten Douji is generally used as a secondary damage dealer, as her AoE NP is useful to clear waves of mobs, and her damage increasing skills are also welcomed by the primary damage dealer. However, it is possible to use her as a primary damage dealer in Arts-oriented teams as her buff types scale well with Arts performance buffs.

Multitude of Colors: Godly Demonic Poison is an Arts-type AoE damaging Noble Phantasm which applies attack, defense, debuff resistance, np damage, and critical rate debuffs, all at 10% for three turns, with an additional one-turn Skill Seal. Its secondary effect applies a poison effect to all enemies, for 5000 damage per turn at maximum overcharge.

Tamamo no Mae

Due to the good Arts scaling, Tamamo is one of the prime choices if Shuten is to be used as a damage dealer. Additionally, Tamamo also heals the party, and the cooldown reduction is also welcomed.

Thanks to her critical star generation and offensive buffs, Shuten is a good partner for critical-oriented damage dealers. Though other, full-fledged supports may perform the role better overall, she is still a highly viable option.

Shuten has three Arts cards in total (her NP and two from her Command Card deck), granting her a good Arts synergy. Additionally, the primary Arts support Servant, Tamamo no Mae, possesses an Arts buff, meaning that Shuten’s attack buffs gain increased effectiveness.

Increases Shuten’s NP damage and the NP she gains from her Arts cards. Due to all of her buffs being attack and NP buffs, her damage scales well with Arts performance up buffs granted by these Craft Essences.

Used in set ups where Shuten acts as the main damage dealer, in order to maximize her NP’s effectiveness.

• Alcoholic Fruit A

  This skill has a 60% chance to apply a charm on all enemies, and applies a defense debuff. As the charm chance does not scale with skill level, it is generally better to invest in Demonic Magic A instead; however, this skill benefits greatly from the cooldown reduction.

• Demonic Magic A

  Increases the party’s attack as well as Shuten Douji’s own NP damage. This skill is her primary offensive buff, allowing Shuten to deal decent NP damage despite Assassins’ lower attack modifier. This skill should be leveled first among her three skills.

• Battle Continuation A+

  While Shuten lacks a hard defensive skill, Battle Continuation allows her to survive opponents’ Noble Phantasms. However, due to Battle Continuation’s less beneficial scaling, it is best to level this skill last.

Her QQAAB deck allows Shuten to gain NP reliably, while still generating a decent amount of critical stars thanks to her high hitcount Quick cards. The two Arts cards also allow her to support her allies’ NP generation quite well.
