Zhuge Liang is, simply put, the best support Servant currently in the game. Boasting powerful buffs, an instant 50% NP gauge fill for any ally, and crowd control in the form of his Noble Phantasm, he is able to maximize a damage dealer Servant’s potential like no other.
However, as his skillset is dedicated towards supporting others, Zhuge Liang himself does not have any means to deal large amounts of damage; the largest gun in his arsenal being being his Brave chains. He also does not possess healing functions, which may be a problem in extended fights. All these limits his role outside of buffing, but the sheer quality of his buffs is more than enough to make up for it.
Pros
Possesses a wide variety of buffs.
Easy-to-use 50% instant NP charge makes up for many Servants’ lower NP gain.
NP contains crowd control effects.
Cons
Zhuge Liang deals little to no damage.
Has no heal function.
Strategies & Tips
Zhuge Liang is best paired up with a strong damage dealer. With maxed skills, it is possible to use his skills on a battle’s first turn to maximize the NP gained; however, generally speaking it is better to use them only on turns where they are immediately needed.
Noble Phantasm
Formation of No Return is a crowd control Noble Phantasm. It drains the enemy party’s NP gauge by one bar, and it applies a defense buff as well as a DoT effect. It also comes with a chance to stun, which increases with Overcharge. The NP drain is this Noble Phantasm’s greatest asset, especially in the lategame where it gives an extra turn for defensive cooldowns to refresh.
Best Servants to Work with
Servant
Explanation
Damage Dealers
These Servants get the most out of Zhuge Liang’s kit, enabling them to more quickly kill opponents they would have problems with otherwise. He also bypasses some Servant’s innate weaknesses, such as Berserkers’ lack of defense buffs and Arts cards.
Sustaining Supports
These Servants possess what Zhuge Liang does not, primarily the healing skill. This would let the party survive longer battles. In turn, these supports benefit from Zhuge’s instant NP gains, allowing them to perform more healing overall.
Taunters + Berserkers
Zhuge Liang’s defense buff allows for Taunters to exceed their normal life expectancy. He also eases their job by increasing the damage dealer’s damage output through his buffs and NP fill. Additionally, his Noble Phantasm’s Stun is able to nullify large amounts of potential damage, further increasing Zhuge Liang’s usefulness in these teams.
The extra stars gained per turn allows for more reliable criticals from the damage dealers, as well as allowing an overall faster NP gain rate for the team due to random criticals

Skills
Upgrade Priority
Discerning Eye A: This skill grants a critical damage buff to a target, and fill their NP gauge by 30%. With the lowest cooldown out of Zhuge Liang’s skills, this skill is primarily used for the NP filling effect. Level this skill last, as the percentage of NP gauge filled is fixed and this skill is leveled mainly for the cooldown reduction.
Advice of the Strategist A+: Grants a defense buff to all allies, and fill their NP gauge by 10%. The defense buff is 30% at max level. Generally speaking, level this skill after Command of the Strategist, although it may have a higher priority in defense-oriented teams.
Command of the Strategist A+: Grants an attack buff to all allies, and fill their NP gauge by 10%. The attack buff is 30% at max level, making this skill a very valuable asset for any team. Level this skill up before the other two. work in progress

Zhuge Liang’s QAAAB deck is perfect for his supporting role, allowing for the team to get more Arts chains as well as Arts first card bonuses. It also helps him charge his Noble Phantasm, which is very useful for boss fights.
although it is situational, it is great since you can get your NP back or overcharge it faster due to his skills enabling him to do so. hence I would say this Kaleidoscope should be mentioned here :)
Lol, Zhuge Liang's NP overcharging effect is to increase the stun chance by 5.7%. I am pretty sure there are better candidates for Kaleidoscope.
Also as a support servant, he should be using his skill to aid his allies need not using them to refund his own NP.(Not that Zhuge Liang has problem charging his own NP anyway)
