Darius is an uncommonly balanced Berserker, excelling in neither offense nor defense. None of his active skills are damage-boosting skills; instead, he has Golden Rule to help him fill his NP gauge, plus Disengage and Battle Continuation to help him survive. Fortunately for Darius, he has a higher ATK stat compared to the other AoE-NP Berserker, Kiyohime, and his Noble Phantasm applies debuffs on his enemies, allowing for Darius’ NP Brave Chains to be more potent.

Pros

  • NP's debuffs increase both his damage and durability.

Cons

  • Has nothing he really specializes in.
  • Golden Rule is rather wasted as he only has one Arts card.

Strategies & Tips

As with all Berserkers, Darius should be used as a damage dealer. A major difference from his counterparts is that you can sometimes leave him unprotected for a couple of turns, and he’d still live due to his skillset. With Golden Rule, his Arts cards are high priority, and should be used whenever they do pop up.

Hans’ defense buff and healing, coupled with Disengage, allows Darius to live longer than he usually does. The attack buff is of course welcomed, while the 3-Arts card deck also helps him fill his NP gauge.
TauntersServants with Taunt are a natural fit for Darius. They allow him to deal damage without worrying about getting killed, and when their Taunts are down, Darius can still rely on his own skills.

Skills

Upgrade Priority

  • Golden Rule B:

    This skill helps patch Darius’ low NP gain. Unfortunately, he only has one Arts card, so he has to rely on getting hit to gain the most of this skill. Still, compared to his other two skills, this one should be leveled first.

  • Disengage A:

    This skill removes debuffs and heals Darius. Due to his Berserker class, the heal is not significant - at max level, it more or less covers one non-critical hit from a medium-level boss. However, the debuff removal allows him to take care of damage reducing debuffs. Level this skill after Golden Rule.

  • Battle Continuation A:

    As with all Battle Continuation, this skill should be leveled last, as you’d most likely only be able to use it once per battle.

Darius’ QABBB deck works well with his high ATK stat; however, it does make Golden Rule less useful than it should be. Still, keeping in mind Berserkers’ vulnerability and his Mad Enhancement, the damage increase more than makes up for it.
