[JP] Ko Gil is a utility debuffer support who can deal good damage on NP. He’s mostly utility, being able to stall through charm, reduce enemy NP and crit damage, reduce debuff resistance, and buff the party’s attack. Sadly, his debuffs only last for a turn, and are stuck on his NP. While being an NP’s secondary effects give it freedom from CDs, they also become reliant on his NP charge, which prevents it from being used on demand.
Pros
2nd Highest AoE NP damage for lowstar Archers.
High Atk stats.
Great NP gain with Golden Rule.
Great debuff utility capability.
Cons
NP is Buster, which prevents spam.
Debuff effects are 1 turn with tricky inconsistent downtime.
2nd and 3rd skills have long CD, which affects full performance greatly.
Strategies & Tips
Gil is usually used as either a wave clearer or as a utility debuffer. As a damage dealer, he can be paired with teammates that improve on his damage, like Buster supports. As a utility debuffer, he can be paired with allies that can stack on his own effects, or who can improve on his performance overall. As a Servant with both utility and offense in one kit, Ko Gil can be rather flexible in performance, but rather limited in teambuilding.
Hans is able to give def up and atk up, which can stack with Ko Gil’s charisma and NP damage down. Hans can also increase the chance for Arts chains, and passively give stars to the party, allowing for good NP charging.
Provides offensive and defensive buffs through his skills and NP, as well as charging the party’s NP gauge. He would be able to aid Ko Gil in using his NP more, and also be able to stall the enemy as well.
Tamamo is able to heal Ko Gil and provide an Arts buff, which multiplies with his Golden Rule. She’s also able to stall, charge Ko Gil’s NP and reduce his CDs by a turn, which helps him in using his NP more frequently.
Mozart is able to aid Ko Gil’s NP charging through Arts chains, and can also boost his Arts with his 1st skill or ensure Ko Gil’s critcharging with his 3rd skill upgrade. He can also stack his 2nd skill with Ko Gil’s NP for a 68% NP damage down, and Ko Gil’s NP would allow Mozart’s NP to hit 100% chance in an NP chain.
Merlin is able to heal, provide stars, increase crit damage, and provide a Buster up for Ko Gil. He sustains and buffs Ko Gil considerably, and he can also provide more Arts chains and charge Ko Gil’s NP per turn.
Nightingale is able to heal Ko Gil and provide him a Buster up to increase his damage. She is also able to give NP damage down on enemies, which can stack with Ko Gil’s own NP for 100% NP damage down.
Ko Gil’s older Caster form is able to increase his stargeneration to 100%, which, paired with both Servants’ hitcounts, can give a good amount of stars for Ko Gil to critcharge with. He can also provide an Arts buff to aid his NP charging more, and give def buffs and atk buffs to increase survival and damage.
As a debuffer, Ko Gil relies mostly on his NP. A good increase in NP gain can stack well with his own Golden Rule, and give him a boost as well when it’s cooling down.
When equipped on Young Gil, Increases party's NP generation by 15% while he is on the field.

After his NP upgrade interlude, Ko Gil deals decent damage when buffed by his charisma. It’s also able to give him Buster brave chainability, which increases his overall potential damage. It’s secondary effects are lowering all enemies’ crit and NP damage by 50-90%, and lowering their debuff resist by 20-40%. As a utility NP, it has good effects, but as they last only for a turn it makes it rather trickier to use. Since it’s a Buster NP, it also doesn’t refund his NP gauge or give Arts first-card bonus. This means that to be able to use his NP constantly, one would have to rely on his Golden Rule.

Skills
Upgrade Priority
Skill Priority: 3/2/1 or 1/3/2
Charisma A+ / Cooldown: 7-5 Increase atk of all allies (3 turns)
A very nice skill to boost the party’s atk, maxing at 21%. Mostly used to increase his NP damage.
Fair Youth C / Cooldown: 9-7 Chance to inflict Charm on a Humanoid (1 turn)
A good skill to stall enemies. Since most Servants are Humanoids, and the skill maxes at 75% chance, it can be rather reliable to stop enemy movement in case Ko Gil’s NP isn’t ready, or to recharge cooldowns on skills.
Golden Rule A / Cooldown: 8-6 Increase NP gain (3 turns)
A great NP gain skill that maxes at 50% increase NP gain. NP gain skills are usually best utilized through crit-charging, so Ko Gil makes extensive use of this skill due to being able to absorb stars with his crit weight. This skill aids Ko Gil’s downtime for his NP, letting you get it up faster for its utility.

A QAABB deck lets Ko Gil form Buster chains with his NP. He also has high atk stats, along with an atk buff, which raises his offense considerably. However, with only 2 Arts and a Buster NP, it also limits his reliability as a debuffer, as he would be pressured in choosing between his Buster cards for damage and Arts cards for NP gain.
