Gilgamesh is a flexible damage-oriented Servant. Boasting innately high critical star weight, high attack, and an all-rounder skillset, he has many team building options. His Noble Phantasm, Enuma Elish, deals increased damage against almost all Servants, making him a powerful choice for many harder battles.
However, he lacks a major damage-increasing skill in the style of Altria Pendragon’s Mana Burst or Altera’s Crest of the Star, which makes his performance pale in comparison early on.
[Post-upgrade] His problems are fixed by his Noble Phantasm interlude, which adds an innate Noble Phantasm damage up to Enuma Elish. This brings him to equal footing with his competitors when fighting non-Servants, and making him one of the best options to fight other Servants. The instant NP gauge from his third skill also helps him in spamming Enuma Elish.
Pros
Flexible skillset allows him to be paired with most Servants.
Enuma Elish’s Anti-Servant bonus scales really well with additional buffs.
Able to provide a decent amount of stars. Combined with his innately high critical star weight, this makes his criticals more reliable, even when not activating his Collector skill.
[Post-upgrade] He has the highest AoE Noble Phantasm damage against Servants.
Cons
No Noble Phantasm upgrade until later in the game.
Lacks a major damage buff outside of Noble Phantasm.
Has no survival function.
Strategies & Tips
The King of Heroes performs best as a main damage dealer. A team centered on Gilgamesh should be able to provide critical stars when needed, preferably with several more Arts cards to assist with his Noble Phantasm gauge gain. Critical and damage buffs in general are also recommended.
Noble Phantasm
Enuma Elish is an Area-of-Effect Noble Phantasm. It deals more damage against Servants, although is rather mediocre against non-Servants. It is generally used as a prelude for his Brave Chain, or as the last card in a Noble Phantasm chain for its Overcharge effect, which increases his extra damage against Servants.
Jeanne provides Gilgamesh with something he lacks, which is survival. With Jeanne’s constant heals and Invulnerability, the King of Heroes can stay longer on the field. The critical star provided by Jeanne’s Revelation is also a welcome addition.
Similar with Jeanne, Hans provides healing and defensive buff for Gilgamesh. However, his ATK and critical damage buff further enhances Gilgamesh’s offensive prowess.
Provides buffs and Noble Phantasm gauge increase, all of which are very helpful for most offensive Servants. Zhuge Liang also provides some means of crowd control through his Noble Phantasm.
Jack’s high critical star generation rate and versatile skillset allows her to be a very helpful ally. However, the use of Quick cards tend to slightly tamper with the team’s card synergy; as such, Arts-inclined teams utilizing Piece of the Year 2030 are generally the better choice.

Upgrade Priority
Charisma A+
His only damage increasing skill, Charisma is a safe bet to level for Gilgamesh over the other two skills, especially before his upgrades.
Golden Rule A
While a helpful skill in most situations, Gilgamesh’s main source of Noble Phantasm gain comes from criticals. It is recommended to level this skill after Charisma.
Collector EX
Leveling this skill would be highly beneficial if you have a critical-oriented team able to provide stars. In such a case, it is recommended to level this over Charisma first. Otherwise, it is safe to more or less ignore this skill. [Post-Upgrade] This skill is now higher priority than Golden Rule and arguably equal with Charisma, especially in regards to reducing its cooldown.

With a QAABB deck, Gilgamesh offers both damage and decent Noble Phantasm gain rate. The lack of Quick cards makes his own critical star generation less reliable, but with the use of critical star gain skills from allies (such as Jeanne D’Arc’s Revelation, or Hans Christian Andersen’s Innocent Monster), this is not as severe a problem.
If you want more star gen on Gil wouldn't Moonlight Fes or Castle of the Sun make more sense than Be Elegant. Since they also provide Crit damage up in exchange for slightly lower star gen, I mean Gil will probably be the main damage dealer after all.
