Noble Phantasm
Melammu Digir is an Arts-type AoE Noble Phantasm, which applies a defense buff to all allies, and a defense debuff to all enemies. Caster Gilgamesh’s main source of damage, the huge amount of hits from this skill, when combined with his star generation and Arts buffs, allows him to generate large amounts of critical stars. The defense up also allows him to aid a team’s defense-stacking capabilities.
While Gilgamesh (Caster) is primarily a damage dealer, he also has some support properties in the form of his attack, defense, and Arts buffs. His critical star generation buff also allows him to generate an amazing amount of stars from the normally barren Arts cards. While he also has a debuff success buff, it is highly situational.
With an AoE NP and rather mediocre ATK, Gilgamesh’s NP damage is not among the highest, although it is mitigated by hiss buffs. However, his support capabilities place him as one of the better damage dealers, especially in more demanding battles where other support Servants benefit from his buffs.
Pros
Decent NP damage.
Defense up allows him to more easily stack defense buffs.
Great star generation while his skill is active.
Arts up helps the team’s overall NP gain.
Cons
Lacks a hard defensive skill.
Limited team support functions.
Strategies & Tips
Gilgamesh (Caster) should be used alongside Arts-oriented supporting Servants, in order to make the most of his abilities. Notably, he is the perfect choice for defense-stacking teams still wishing to retain some amount of offensive ability. His star generation skill and attack up skills should be used when he is about to unleash his Noble Phantasm, while his Arts buff can be used then as well, or to aid his party’s NP generation.
Tamamo’s Arts buff is especially important for Caster Gilgamesh, especially due to his AoE-type NP. Additionally, the healing and cooldown reduction are also beneficial for him; additionally, Tamamo’s defense up also goes in hand with his defense up.
Shielder’s major defense buffs are a natural complement for Gilgamesh. This is made even better by her Taunt and Invulnerability skills, making the team even more tanky. Notably, however, Mash lacks a healing skill, meaning that the third party member would have to provide for this.
Critical-oriented Arts Servants With Gilgamesh’s help, these Servants benefit in that he is able to significantly help with both NP gain and star generation. Examples of this type of Servants are Nursery Rhyme and Marie Antoinette (Summer).
Support Servants with defense buffs
Due to Gilgamesh’s NP, he is best used alongside this type of unit, as it allows for major damage stacking strategies. Tamamo no Mae and Mash, listed above, both belong to this category.
This type of Craft Essence provide the greatest damage increase for Gilgamesh’s Noble Phantasm, patching its usually medium-level damage. They are generally the best Craft Essence choice for Gilgamesh, especially on more dedicated parties.
Should be used when Melammu Digir’s defense up is crucial to the party’s strategy, though notably, other party members may take priority on the use of this type of Craft Essence.
When equipped to Gilgamesh (Caster) only, increase NP Strength for all allies by 20% while on the field

King’s Return A
Grants a significant critical star generation buff to all allies for three turns. This is a highly useful skill for Caster Gilgamesh, as the high percentage actually allows him to generate critical stars - which, in turn, would help the team’s overall NP gain and damage. This skill should be leveled second, as the long cooldown would otherwise make it unreliable.
Charisma A+
A high-percentage charisma, the main purpose of this skill is simply to increase damage. This skill should generally be leveled third, unless Caster Gilgamesh is used for his damage support capabilities. It is a good idea to to level it to the point where its cooldown matches that of Sovereign of Magic Wands.
Sovereign of Magic Wands EX
This skill’s party-wide Arts buff accelerates his party’s NP gain and damage from Arts cards - including his NP. Aside from this, it also increases the effectiveness of his first skill, making this skill an extremely important one for Caster Gilgamesh (especially when we consider his somewhat mediocre base NP gain). This skill should be leveled first.

With a triple Arts deck, Caster Gilgamesh has a reliable NP gain, even more so when his third skill is active. He also gains access to Arts Brave chains, allowing him to regain his gauge rather fast after a Noble Phantasm.
