Diarmuid is a single-target damager. Diarmuid’s best offensive measure is his NP, which does good damage after his interlude. Unfortunately, while Diarmuid deals well on NP, his skillset is severely lacking in usability.
Pros
Good NP damage that removes the enemy’s buffs.
Has 2 Arts, which is rare for most Lancers, making his NP gain better than most.
High Atk down against Females.
High HP stats.
Cons
Atk down is selective towards females and lasts for only a turn.
Skills have little synergy.
Strategies & Tips
Diarmuid has the 2nd highest NP damage among the 3★ Lancers, and is also the only 3* Lancer to have 2 Arts on his deck. This gives him some value as he is able to use a strong NP easier and more frequently compared to his fellow Lancers. Aside from that, his skillset sadly suffers from having little synergy, and sometimes even borderline useless. It is best to use him in a setup that provides buffs for his NP, and in teams that include more Arts to encourage frequent NP use.
Noble Phantasm
Diarmuid’s NP does good damage thanks to an interlude, and also has the utility of being able to remove an enemy’s buffs and apply 500-1500 curse for 5 turns. While the curse is negligible, the fact that Diarmuid is able to use it faster compared to his peers, and that its damage ranks 2nd highest among all Silver Lancers, gives him good use despite his poor skillset.
Provides offensive and defensive buffs through his skills and NP, as well as charging the party’s NP gauge. He would be able to increase his overall damage, and make Diarmuid use his NP more frequently.
Wu Zetian is able to increase Diarmuid’s attack and Quick performance, which lets Diarmuid’s NP damage to multiply rather high. She is also able to provide some stars for the team, which can help his damage and NP gain by increasing his chances to crit.
With his skill upgrade, Alexander is able to provide Diarmuid with two different multiplicative buffs, which lets Diarmuid’s NP damage scale well. Alex’s Quick up would also do well to boost his NP charging on his Quicks, and Alex would also be able to form more Quick chains with Diarmuid.
As it is the best part of his kit, increasing his NP damage is ideal. These CEs also scale higher than Quick up CEs in general, so it would scale his NP damage higher than Quick up CEs would.

Mind’s Eye (True) B
A decent survival function. The def up is rather small at 18% max, but it helps Diarmuid take in more hits with his high HP.
Love Spot C
A rather decent skill, if only it lasted for more than a turn. A 50% atk down at max is pretty large, and would make tanking attacks against Female bosses easier to achieve. However, with its niche effect and duration, it doesn’t fare well in making it worth maxing.
Knight Tactics B
Also maxing at 50%, this would’ve been a decent skill if Diarmuid had more hitcounts. Despite the large percentage, he doesn’t generate that much stars, and is only mostly usable for his Brave chains. It is good to note, however, that Diarmuid has 2 hits on his Buster and 4 on his Extra, which at least puts the skill to some use.

A QQAAB deck fits rather well for Diarmuid, as it lets him make use of his 3rd skill and also to charge his NP decently. However, due to having only 2 hits on his Quicks, his stargen is limited heavily.
