[JP] Alexander is a superb damager who has the ability to support. His NP hits the hardest among the lowstar Riders, and hits 3rd hardest among all the Riders. He has a solid skillset, and a niche in being an accessible Quick buffer, and overall good performance as both a damager and Quick damage support.
[NA] Alexander needs his interlude and 3rd skill to achieve his great performance, so unfortunately at this point in time Alex doesn’t do as well as his JP counterpart.
Pros
3* rarity allows for easy NP5, giving easy access to his damage.
Accessible Quick Damage support.
Good NP gain with deck and 3rd skill.
High NP damage with good secondary effects.
Cons
Needs his upgrades for full performance.
Rider crit weight can hinder support performance.
Strategies & Tips
Alex is meant to deal damage. His high AoE damage can be easily used as a wave-clear, even on neutral enemies, and he has great NP gain that can give access to some frequency of NP use. He’s mostly a buffer for Quick NPs, and acts as a secondary damager. As a support, pair him with Servants with Quick NPs to increase their damage, and to Servants with Quick decks to aid their damage, NP gain and stargen.
Best Servants to Work with
Most Quick Servants Okita Souji, Gaius Julius Caesar, Sasaki Kojirou, Jing Ke, Jack the Ripper, Wu Zetian, Yan Qing, Ushiwakamaru, Medusa, Billy the Kid, Diarmuid Ua Duibhe, Proto Cu Chulainn, etc. Alex owns a niche in being the most accessible Quick support, but his support capability is also rather limited due to his high starweight. While he can reliably boost allies’ Quick NP damage, one must keep in mind that he absorbs a lot of stars in the process as well.
Hans provides Arts cards to increase Arts chains, and can passively give Alex stars to critcharge with. He can also buff crits for the party, which increases Alex’s overall damage.
Caesar relies mostly on his Quicks to generate NP, and Alex can aid him in that aspect. He also provides an NP damage up buff, which multiplies with Alex’s 2 buffs, increasing his damage further.
Ushi has high NP damage, and her skills and own passive would stack well with Alex’s to boost his NP damage. She also possesses an Aoe NP gain buff, which would multiply with Alex’s Quick up, therefore boosting the team’s NP gain on Quicks.
Kojirou is a critstriker who can provide stars for himself. Alex’s 2 buffs would multiply Kojirou’s damage greatly, as he has a Quick deck and his crit buff would multiply with the additional buffs. However, this needs Kojirou’s 3rd skill upgrade to be able to absorb the stars.
Melt has a good amount of hit counts, and she also is able to buff her own Quicks. Having Alexander buff her would increase her NP spammability, while also increasing her stargen and damage.
NP damage CEs scale considerably higher than Arts up CEs, so if Robin is with a teammate that provides Arts buffs, an NP damage CE would be more preferable to add multiply his NP damage further.
Another Bond CE that fits very well with the Servant’s role. This doubles Alexander’s AoE Quick buff to 40%, giving himself an overall 51% Quick up with his Riding A+. This improves his own damage and NP gain, while also improving his support greatly. The 40% Quick buff to all allies and his Charisma gives a combined 62% increase in Quick damage.
Since Boudica’s full performance is dependent on NP, an increase in NP gain would multiply with her Arts up, improving her NP gain from 1.7% to 2.55%. Boudica also has Riding A, so using these type of CEs would also increase her NP gain on Quicks.

Upgrade Priority
Charisma C / Cooldown: 7-5 Increase the Atk of all allies (3 turns)
A decent attack up skill that maxes out at 16%. It’s a fairly small percentage, but it multiplies with his 3rd skill well, letting him scale higher on actual damage.
Fair Youth B / Cooldown: 9-7 Chance to charm an enemy [Humanoid] Servant (1 turns)
A decent charm skill that maxes at 80%. Charms and stuns usually exist to extend your life, as a 1 turn halt on the enemy’s movements may mean life-or-death at times. Since it affects humanoids, one can rely on using it against most Servants, and some mobs.
Signs of a Supreme Ruler A / Cooldown: 7-5 [Strengthening Upgrade] Increase the Quick Performance of all allies (3 turns)
A great skill that maxes out on 20% at max. This lets Alex function as a good budget Quick support with his 2 buffs, and boosts his NP damage highly. It also stacks with his Riding A+ passive, giving him an overall 31% Quick buff. It also boosts his NP gain on Quicks, giving him a slight degree of spam. Since it also lasts for 3 turns with a 5 turn CD, it gives you access to it frequently, which means his NP would be dealing high damage constantly.

With a QQAAB deck, Alex is able to charge his NP reliably while having some chance to generate a decent amount of stars. A QQAAB deck usually suffers from weak damage-per-turn, but since his NP gain is also rather high with his buff + passive, he is able to balance it with his NP usage. This makes him one of the Best Servants who can utilize this deck.
