[JP] Eric Bloodaxe is actually a pretty good Berserker, but is sadly overshadowed by Kiyohime and Darius. However, he’s still a good option as a cheap Berserker who can surpass his stats’ limitations.
[NA] At the NA Server Darius and Kiyo have still not received their upgrades, which lets Eric outdamage them on NP, making him worth more on the NA server compared to JP.
Pros
Powerful NP Brave chains due to his NP and skill’s buffs and debuffs
Can boost his Max HP to 11k for 3 turns
Has both offensive and defensive measures while coming at a cheap cost
Cons
Overshadowed by most other Berserkers
NP has an HP demerit
Standard low NP gain for a Berserker
Strategies & Tips
Eric is in no way bad--- in fact his kit all comes together to be rather reliable and compact. But unfortunately he doesn’t shine that much either. When you climb up just one step in rarity, Kiyohime and Darius surpass him in overall usefulness and offense due to their higher DPS, and just a step down, Spartacus already surpasses him in overall survival and NP damage.
Eric also has his own shortcomings as well. His Battle Continuation lasts for only 4 turns, and his NP reduces his HP. His entirety can be summarized as such: He offers both offense and defense, but not enough. He doesn’t shine in particular, and his kit and playstyle is much similar with Darius and Kiyohime, which gives the three constant competition for quality with each other.
That said, Eric does pack some punch even for a 2* AOE Servant. Among the Bronze and Silver AoE Berserkers, he does the most damage in his burst phase, due to his powerful Extra Card. His Extra Card outdamages everyone else’s cards, which allows him to do good damage even outside Buster brave chains. This is because his primary buff is a stacked ATK buff and DEF debuff, which affects all his cards. Weighing that in, he still doesn’t particularly offer much aside from costing less, but it gives him some merit in use.
Noble Phantasm
Eric’s NP deals good NP5 damage. It comes with a built-in ATK buff that triggers before his NP hits, which affects his entire chain. However, it also takes 1000HP away from Eric, which can be pretty dangerous for a Bronze Berserker.
Hans is able to increase Eric’s survivability through healing and def up, and he can also increase his offense through atk up to up to 90% atk up. Hans can also give more possibility of forming Arts chains, which lets Eric charge his NP faster. Eric’s atk down can also stack with Hans’ def up, which gives him a total of 35% defense up for 2 turns.
Provides offensive and defensive buffs through his skills and NP, as well as charging the party’s NP gauge, which immediately counters Eric’s lack of NP gain.
Shakespeare is able to buff Eric’s Busters, which would increase his damage when he uses his NP. Shakespeare also gets a skill upgrade that lets him charge an ally’s NP gauge and boost star generation by 100%, which can aid Eric’s slow NP charge rate, and let his NP generate a decent amount of stars.
George offers a 3-turn taunt to cover for Eric, by taking on the damage for him. His performance is also overall very stable, which lets him be reliable and consistent in his tanking. Eric’s atk down can also aid his tanking, as it can stack with his def up.
D’eon is able to taunt for 3-turns, which lets her take damage to cover for Eric. While she’s not as consistent as George, she has a dodge for tanking NPs, and has more Buster cards to increase Buster chains to increase Eric’s overall damage. Eric’s atk down can also aid her tanking, as she lacks a def up outside of her dodge.
Leonidas can offer a 3-turn taunt on his NP, which gives Eric three turns to avoid damage. Eric can also debuff the enemy’s atk to improve Leonidas’ tanking. Leo can also buff Eric’s Busters, which increases his overall damage on his NP Brave chains. However, Leonidas’ deck can be crippling for NP gain, and he can be rather tricky to use.
[JP] Merlin is able to immediately counter Eric’s slow NP gain by charging his NP with his 1st skill and NP. He can also buff Eric’s Busters considerably, as well as increase his HP by 3000HP. If one uses their HP up skills alternatively, one would be giving Eric either a permanent 3000HP boost. One could do that, or stack their skills every 6 turns for a total 6000 boost in HP.
Since Eric’s damage is already boosted by 60% ATK up, adding a Buster up CE would let him multiply that damage further. A boost in his Buster cards would also apply to his NP Buster brave chains, which increases his overall damage.
If Eric is paired with teammates who can boost his Buster up, it is better to boost his NP damage as it would add up and scale even higher than a Buster up CE.
A decent skill to aid Eric’s survival and offense. While the ATK down is small, it can be fairly useful when stacking it with DEF ups from allies. It can also be very helpful with taunters, as it would extend their lifespan, or in some cases, even allow them to tank NPs. The DEF down is used generally for his NP, as it lets Eric increase his ATK against one enemy, adding up with his NP’s ATK up to a total of a 60% increase in his ATK.
A decent survival skill. A Zerk would rely often on revives due to the damage that they take, so a revive would be rather helpful in extending their lives for a turn. Sadly, Eric only revives with 2000HP, which means he’d only take one more hit or two before going down again.
Bloodthirsty Bestial Axe A+ / Cooldown: 8-6 [Strengthening Upgrade] Remove Debuffs Increase Max HP (3 turns)
A very good skill that increases his max HP by 3000 at max. A Max HP up skill is equivalent to a heal that can break HP limits, meaning one doesn’t have to worry about wasting heals due to overhealing. It also means one can use it even before the unit gets damaged, which can sometimes be a lifesaver compared to healing after damage is done. Since Eric’s NP damages him, this skill allows him to heal himself before taking damage from the NP.

A QABBB deck boosts Eric’s damage very well, and does good to let him deal more than his 2* stats would normally let him. While it does limit his NP gain, it lets him deal the great damage on his NP Buster brave chains, especially with his 60% ATK up.
