[JP] William Shakespeare exists as a Buster support. He specializes in buffing Busters for damage and helping Buster Servants charge NP, and while he does pretty decently in his specialization, but unfortunately he is highly outclassed by Merlin. Unlike other supports like Mozart and Alexander, Shakespeare has 2 burst skills and no sustained skills, which is rather unfortunate as it means he does nothing in his downtime but give Arts cards.
[NA] Shakespeare receives his targetable NP charge with his 3rd skill upgrade, which makes his performance rather limited at this stage. But at the same time, at this stage there is no one else but Shakespeare who can increase Arts chains and buff Busters.
Pros
AAA Deck + Buster buff aids NP charging with Buster Servants through Arts chains.
High-scaling Buster buff.
Targetable NP charge skill (JP).
Decent AoE NP damage for Casters in NA.
Cons
Has no sustained skills, does nothing on his downtime.
Needs upgrade for full potential.
Strategies & Tips
Shakespeare acts as a middleman for Arts chains in Buster teams. He can aid the team’s NP gain through creating more Arts chains, and with his 3rd skill he can charge an ally’s NP gauge. He’s usually used with a Buster damage dealer and another support, and one would usually use his Buster buff for the damager’s NP Buster Braves.
Best Servants to Work with
Most Buster Servants Lu Bu Fengxian, Eric Bloodaxe, Darius III, Altria Pendragon, Siegfried, Altera, Elisabeth Bathory, Romulus, Heracles, Sakata Kintoki, Kiyohime, Hector, Francis Drake, Oda Nobunaga, Gilgamesh, etc. Shakespeare can aid most Buster Servants in NP gain, and offer them a good boost in Buster damage.
Hans provides Arts cards to increase Arts chains, and sustains the team through def buffs and heals. His atk up also multiplies with Shakespeare’s Buster up, which makes for a solid support team.
Provides offensive and defensive buffs through his skills and NP, as well as charging the party’s NP gauge. His atk buff multiplies with Shakespeare’s Buster buff, and his NP charge skills can stack with Shakespeare’s for an overall 70% NP gauge on one target.
While being a support, sadly Shakespeare doesn’t do much outside of his skills. His NP isn’t a good support function, therefore one way to improve his performance is to let him passively produce stars.
Shakespeare deals a decent amount of NP damage if buffed by his own Buster buff, so there is some worth in buffing his NP. However, one must not expect high numbers from it still.
Shakespeare’s NP is rather useless, as it deals mediocre damage and has a mediocre chance to stun as a secondary effect. The stun chance is highly unreliable, and because of his NP being Buster, it is unusable for Arts chains to aid NP gain nor is it able to refund his own gauge.

Upgrade Priority
Enchant A / Cooldown: 7-5 Increase all allies’ Buster Performance (1 turn)
A good skill that maxes out on 40% increase in Buster for a turn. It’s used mostly to boost the NP and Buster damage of his allies, for maximum damage output. It has a decent CD time, but its 1 turn duration means you won’t be able to use it as much as you’d like.
Self-Preservation B / Cooldown: 8-6 Apply Invincible (1 turn) Restore HP
A nice skill to help Shakespeare survive. Because Shakespeare has a decently long downtime, he does well in extending his life with this skill.
The King’s Men C / Cooldown: 8-6 [Strengthening Upgrade] Increase an Ally’s NP gauge Increase an Ally’s crit generation rate (1 turn)
A decent skill but suffers from its CD time, as it doesn’t improve the consistency of your team’s NP gain as reliably. But it still is rather useful in helping Buster Servants generate NP decently. The crit generation rate is rather situational, but it maxes at 100%, making it rather useful for allies with a high number of hits on their NPs. Paired with the Buster buff, it can allow allies to generate as much as 40 stars on their Buster NP, depending on hitcounts.

With an QAAAB deck, Shakespeare fits well as a Buster support, as he is able to create more possibilities in making Arts chains, therefore increasing NP gain.
