Mordred doesn’t really stand up much among the Saber class servants due to her typical Saber skillsets and kit but she does have something different which is a skill that charges her NP gauge while increasing her defense for a turn that makes her a better sweeper than the others.
Pros
The only Saber class with NP gauge charging skill. Coupled with CE such as Kaleidoscope, it can be used directly to sweep enemies on the first turn while providing additional NP charge after use due to her NP’s overcharge effect.
High Buster damage. With a skillset almost similar to your regular Altria Pendragon and the Alter version, Mordred deals heavy damage with her Buster cards due to her Mana Burst skill which also have a short cooldown at max level.
Cons
Low star generation and absorption. Typical weakness of a Saber class, Mordred has only one Quick card in her command cards layout, making her main damage output coming from raw damage rather than critical. Besides that, even though she does have the Instinct skill to compensate for her low star generation, it does not translate directly into increased damage for her due to her low star absorption.
Skills need to be levelled to be effective. The Secret of Pedigree skill only provides 10% NP charge at Level 1 and increase by 2% for every level. Therefore, in order to unleash your NP on the first turn with Kaleidoscope equipped you have to level the skill to at least Level 6 for 20% NP charge, making it quite a burden due to the difficulty of obtaining the required materials.
Strategies & Tips
Mordred is quite an easy servant to be used with skillsets that are not difficult to understand their usage. The main strategy revolves around using Mana Burst to increase your damage and Secret of Pedigree to charge up your NP gauge to take out the lower HP enemies first in boss fights. Besides that, Secret of Pedigree also helps to increase her survivability by providing defense buff and removing debuff despite being a one turn effect but still something to be considered.
Noble Phantasm
Mordred’s Noble Phantasm, Clarent Blood Arthur is an AOE NP that deals moderate damage but still sufficient to get the job done when using it as a sweeper. It also deals additional damage to Artoria enemies which are those with Artoria in their names including Mysterious Heroine X and overcharging her NP provides additional NP charge of 20% (after interlude) after use.
Mordred’s NP damage can be boosted by Altera’s skill while acting as another sweeper in the party. Besides that, Mordred can provides star support to Altera with her Instinct skill as Altera has increased star absorption rate and her own critical star generation skill.
As Mordred benefits from Elizabeth’s Sadistic Charisma double buffs, Elizabeth is a good companion to be used alongside her while providing additional defense reduction for higher damage output.
80% NP charge at the beginning of battle + 20% from Level 6 Secret of Pedigree allow us to use her NP immediately from the start which is good to be used when farming event stages.
If you plan to fight a longer battle rather than sweeping enemies with her NP, Golden Sumo can be considered as it provides additional attack to Mordred while still provides slight amount of NP charge at the start.
An increase in NP damage and NP gauge charge is also a good setup for Mordred when farming events especially if you have a Waver or Merlin in the party to provide NP charge support.
When equipped to Mordred (Saber) only Increase NP damage of all allies by 20% while on the field

Upgrade Priority
Depending on whether you prefer higher raw damage output or focusing on using her NP as frequently as possible, the priority should be given to the first or the third skill based on your own preference. Even though the second skill is quite convenient by providing additional critical stars but it doesn’t really works well with Mordred so it should be left for the last.

Mordred’s command cards are pretty average to say the least but she does compensate for it with her active skills that gain NP charge and critical stars.
