Vlad is the only Berserker to have an Arts Noble Phantasm so far, as well as a double Arts deck. He also has a higher HP pool compared to most Berserkers, complemented with a defense up skill and Battle Continuation, while his lower ATK is made up by his EX-rank Mad Enhancement, which gives him a 12% bonus to Buster cards’ performance. These allow him to synergize in Arts-heavy teams, allowing him to deal good damage output against any opponent without having to worry about survival. His Noble Phantasm also produces a good amount of stars, increasing both damage dealt and NP gained during the next turn.
However, a vital weakness to his skillset is that his Noble Phantasm’s damage multiplier is below average. His base NP gain rate is also rather low. Combined with the fact that his defense up skill’s percentage is on the lower side, these make him a rather mediocre Servant outside of specific compositions.
Pros
Fits in well in Arts teams.
Relatively high bulk for a Berserker.
Effective against any opponent.
Stronger Buster cards.
Cons
Niche usage.
Rather mediocre skillset [removed JP-Only].
Horrendous NP gain.
Lower NP modifier [removed JP-Only].
Chance-based NP Drain below level 10 Vampirism.
Strategies & Tips
The best way to use Vlad III is to put him inside an Arts-oriented team. This gives him access to constant heals and buffs, and it helps him fill his NP gauge, something that Vlad would otherwise experience problems with. When using Vlad as a standalone, it is recommended to equip starting NP Craft Essences.
Noble Phantasm
Kazikli Bey is an Arts-type single-target Noble Phantasm. It has a lower modifier compared to other single-target NPs (600% instead of the supposed 900% for Arts), although the star generation property somewhat makes up for it.
Provides buffs and Noble Phantasm gauge increase, the latter of which is extremely important for Vlad. Zhuge Liang’s NP drain also synergizes with Vampirism, allowing them to delay bosses’ Noble Phantasm for a longer time.
Or Saint George. Both of these Servants are Taunters who synergize with Arts teams (having two Arts cards as well as an Arts Noble Phantasm). They are able to safeguard Vlad from single-target damage for three turns, while not significantly reducing the team’s stability.
Tamamo gives an Arts card buff, which greatly boosts Kazikli Bey’s damage. Her Noble Phantasm’s effects also benefit Vlad greatly, allowing him to unleash Kazikli Bey more often while surviving longer.

Upgrade Priority
Vampirism A
This skill decreases an enemy’s NP charge by one bar, and fills Vlad’s NP gauge by a minimum of 20%. This skill should be leveled first, both for the increase in percentage, and for the cooldown.
Morph C
This skill gives a defense buff for Vlad, allowing him to survive more hits. However, at 24% defense up maximum, the percentage is rather mediocre. Level this skill after Vampirism, especially for the cooldown. After the strengthening quest, this skill gives a defense buff and an attack buff for Vlad, at 30% each maximum. With a cooldown of five turns at level 10, it is a very potent skill. Still, it is better to level Vampirism first to ensure that his NP drain hits.
Battle Continuation A
Battle Continuation is a last resort skill, to be used when Vlad is expected to die. Due to its nature, this skill would most likely only be used once per battle. As such, it should be leveled last.

Vlad’s QAABB deck is the source of his flexibility. The deck’s fewer Buster cards is not that much of a hindrance for his damage thanks to Vlad’s high Mad Enhancement rank. Overall, a very solid deck that allows him to fit in most compositions.
Why? That would waste his 10-hit potential. As someone who primarily uses Vlad (with Nero Bride/Tamamo/Waver/Jeanne as support) as my main DPS, his NP spamming potential is alarmingly 🔥. With the right CE and team composition, he shreds everything down to the sub-atomic level (exaggerated but you get my point) as well as gives us who are primarily Arts users a choice with Berserkers.
I agree with Adel, his Arts NP gives nice NP refund and is boosted amazingly by Tamamo's Arts buff. I've got him (at level 80 NP1) in a Team of Tamamo and David and he's been cleaning up the Dante event. I haven't had to use a single command seal yet.
