Li Shuwen as one of the few Chinese martial art artist within the game has quite a special skillset that focuses on piercing through any defensive skillset that the enemies have. His command cards performance is above average for a 4* servant with his only weakness is that he doesn’t really have much to do after blowing all his skills together with his NP for a one turn burst.
Pros
Defense piercer. Li has the ability to pierce both invincibility and evasion which also comes with the additional effect of strengthening his damage with either the increase in critical damage or Arts cards performance. Besides that, his NP also allows him to deal damage to the target while ignoring its defense, making him a suitable servant to be used against enemies with lots of defensive buffs.
Critical attacker. Li has a high star generation rate for a 4* Lancer class servant which coupled with his high hit count especially on the five hits Extra attack can generate quite a large amount of critical stars per Brave Chain. His first and second skill works well together where one will increase his star absorption while the other increases his critical damage, allowing him to deal considerate amount of burst damage in a turn.
Cons
Difficult to time skill. Even though Li’s skillset has excellent effects and has a wide variety of usage, it is sometimes hard to decide whether to use them offensively or defensively. For example, Li’s second skill, Sphere Boundary provides self evasion and increase in star absorption for a turn which are both very good effects to have but you may have a hard time choosing whether using it to deal damage this turn or using it defensively to save your life in the next few turns.
Does not have any critical stars reinforcement skill. As Li’s damage output mainly comes from critical damage, it is appropriate to supply him with as much critical stars as possible. However, he only has a skill that increases Arts cards effectiveness which isn’t going to provide much critical stars in return. Therefore, it is suitable to pair him with a party member can provide a steady stream of critical stars without much hassle to stabilize his damage output.
Strategies & Tips
Li is an attacker that deal quite an amount of damage with his main damage source coming from his high critical damage. Besides that, he is also flexible to be used in various stages as he has the ability to ignore both invincibility and evasion when attacking and also deal damage while ignoring the target’s defense with his NP.
Noble Phantasm
Li’s Noble Phantasm, Shen Qiang Wu Er Da is a single target NP that deals damage and decreases the enemy’s defense by 20% for three turns after use. Besides that, it also has a chance to instantly kill the enemy which is an added bonus to the NP. As an Arts type NP it would receive the damage boost from his Juezhao skill so it is good if you can time the skills together.
Supports Li with her increase in Arts card performance buff while also allows him to chain Arts cards more frequently by having three Arts cards in her own deck.
The critical stars gained from Vlad’s NP can be used by Li while the latter can increase the occurrence of Arts cards for Vlad to build up his NP gauge much faster.
Compatible with Li within the same party as she has the same command cards deck as him and at the same time able to counter Saber class which is the weakness of Li.
Provides an increase in both critical stars drop rate and NP gain which makes up quite a bit for his star generation rate and also increases his ability to charge up his NP gauge.
As Li only has two Quick cards in his command card deck, it is more beneficial to provide him with static amount of critical stars every turn instead of increasing his Quick cards effectiveness.
When equipped on Li Shuwen (Lancer), Increase Arts Card performance by 15% while he's on the field.

Upgrade Priority
Skill Priority: 3 > 1 > 2
The third skill should be raised as the top priority since it can increase his NP gain and NP damage. After that, we level the first skill next as 100% increase in critical damage at max level is a huge boost in damage output. The second skill is left for the last as we would want to prioritize the other skills that increases our damage output.
