[JP] Paracelsus serves as an Arts support. He has a good skillset overall and a decent NP, but he suffers from one severely crippling weakness--- his long cooldowns. Due to his long skill cooldowns, Paracelsus’ supportive capabilities become severely limited. It also gives him weak consistency, even as an Arts Servant.
Pros
Rapid Casting A gives good access to NP.
3 turn AoE Arts up.
Targetable Guts that revives at 3000HP.
Cons
Bad CD time.
Low NP damage despite interlude.
NP atk down too low.
NP Gain lower compared to other Casters.
Strategies & Tips
Paracelsus acts as an Arts support, but due to his long CDs, he suffers in not being consistent enough to support teams. His buffs and debuffs also don’t scale particularly high, so this doesn’t give one much reason to use him at all. The only benefit he has over Boudica--- who functions very similarly to him, is that he has low crit weight. His skills aren’t bad per se, it’s just that with his CD time he falls off in consistency, which is what Arts teams capitalize on, making him mostly a 1-time use Servant for battles.
Best Servants to Work with
Most Arts Servants Robin Hood, Nero Bride, Medea, Euryale, Paracelsus, Geronimo, Ryougi Shiki, Helena Blavatsky, Angra Mainyu, Emiya (Assassin), Hundred-Faced Hassan, Shuten Douji, Lancelot (Saber), Nitocris, etc Paracelsus is able to boost most Arts Servants decently. However due to his long CDs, one would not rely on him for longer fights.
Hans provides Arts cards to increase chances for Arts chains, aiding Paracelsus’ NP gain. Hans also benefits from his Arts up, and would also see an increase in his own NP gain. His NP would stack his def up on Paracelsus’ atk up, which provides some decent defense.
Provides offensive and defensive buffs through his skills and NP, as well as charging the party’s NP gauge. This would give Paracelsus better access to his NP, and stack Zhuge Liang’s def buffs with his atk down decently.
Tamamo is able to increase Arts chain chances with Paracelsus, and also charge her NP gauge. Tamamo is able to reduce CDs with her NP, thus aiding Paracelsus in his core weakness to some extent.
When equipped on Paracelsus Van Hohenheim, Increase Arts Card performance by 10% and NP Performance by 10% while on the field.

Paracelsus’ NP suffers from having a lower multiplier compared to other Arts NPs, making it deal mediocre damage, despite having a buff and an interlude. It also has a mediocre secondary effect, a 10% atk down. Atk downs are pretty nice, but with only 10%, there isn’t much to go for. It also has only 3 hits, so isn’t able to refund his NP with it as well.

Upgrade Priority
Rapid Casting A / Cooldown: 8-6 Increase NP gauge
A very good skill with a decent CD. It maxes out at 80% NP gauge, which can let you use Paracelsus’ NP immediately or use it back-to-back
Elemental A+ / Cooldown: 9-7 Increase all allies’ Arts Performance (3 turns)
Maxing out at 20% Arts up, this skill wouldn’t be too bad if it had better CDs. At max, it would have a 4 turn downtime, which severely cripples Paracelsus’ supportive capabilities and consistency.
Philosopher’s Stone A / Cooldown: 10-8 Apply Guts on an Ally (1 time) (3 turns)
Another decent skill that suffers from bad duration-CD ratio. A targetable guts is very useful, but it’s only reliable to be used one time with it’s duration and CD time. At max it revives for 3000HP, but suffers from being up for only 3 turns while being down for 5.

Paracelsus comes with a QAAAB deck, which helps him support parties by increasing chances for Arts chains. It also lets him capitalize well on his Elemental A+, and aids in giving him more chances to use his NP faster.
