Unfortunately, most of Spartacus’ great performance is reliant on his upgrades. As of now he’s still the 2nd most survivable Zerk ingame, but to a lesser extent compared to his JP version.
After the strengthening quest (currently unavailable on the EN ver), Spartacus is the 2nd most survivable Zerk ingame due to his kit. He has arguably the greatest skillset among the Bronze and Silver Zerks, and is one of the few Zerks who can operate without a tank. His heals combined goes to an overall 12,500-16,500HP, and his skill costs make him an extremely easy investment.
Pros
1★ rarity makes him extremely easy to invest in, demanding almost nothing on skill costs.
Extreme survivability on a Zerk, making him independent of tanks and splashier with other supports.
Mad Enhancement EX and Buster up gives an overall 52% Buster up, making his NP and/or Brave chains hit decently hard despite his low stats.
Has an NP charge skill, giving him easier access to his NP compared to other Zerks.
Cons
Horrendous 1★ stats are his only weakness.
Dependent on 2 upgrades for full performance.
Strategies & Tips
Compared to most Zerks who live by hit hard and fast, Spartacus approaches offense differently. He deals damage as he survives over time, and exchanges high damage hits for reliable hitting. Damage with him doesn’t come that slow either--- He comes with an NP charge skill which makes him spike damage with his NP, and his Buster up and Mad Enhancement EX doesn’t make him too bad at hitting either.
Pairing a tank with Berserkers are fairly normal practice, but for Spartacus it cripples him instead. Spartacus is one of the few who can charge reliably by getting hit, and has plenty of heals to cover for himself. Taking away hits from him limits his NP gain further and only wastes his heals.
He is best paired with allies who can provide def buffs. Defense up buffs would make Spartacus receive less damage, and whatever damage he receive he can promptly patch up himself. A 3rd ally that buffs offense would be recommended as well.
Noble Phantasm
Spartacus' NP does average damage thanks to NP5, but is able to hit fairly well with his Buster up. It also heals him for a great 3000-7000HP depending on overcharge, which makes it a great tool for bringing his health up.
Provides offensive and defensive buffs through his skills and NP, as well as charging the party’s NP gauge. Zhuge Liang would be able to cover for Spartacus through the def buffs, as well as quicken the rate of Spartacus’ NP usage.
Post-upgrade Mashu is able to buff defense and attack, and her damage cuts on her def ups severely reduce the damage Spartacus takes. She is able to boost both of his stats very well, which immediately counters Spartacus’ only weakness.
While having no def buffs, Merlin is able to stack Buster ups with Spartacus, giving Spartacus an overall 102% increase in Buster performance. He is also able to charge his NP passively and on demand, and increase his atk. Unavailable on the EN ver.
Since Spartacus’ only weakness is his low stats, Golden Sumo would boost his attack, overcoming the barrier for his low stats. Assuming the CE is at level 1 and Spartacus has +1000 atk fou, Spartacus would have atk equivalent to that of a 3★’s.
NP damage up scales higher than the atk up by Golden Sumo, so if one wants to capitalize more on his NP damage, this CE multiplies his damage further with his Buster up.

Honor of Suffering B+
A great skill that sustains Spartacus without too much risk of overhealing. It has a duration of 5 turns and a CD of 7 turn at max, giving it a short downtime of only 2 turns. The Strenghtening Upgrade increases the heal from 600HP per turn and 3000HP in total, to 1500HP per turn and 7500HP.
Unyielding Will A
Guts gives Spartacus a chance to revive with 1HP. Revives are the main survival function of most Zerks, but Spartacus’ kit also allows him to get back to full HP immediately after revival. It also increases his NP gauge, which gives him access to his NP and its heal, compared to most Zerks who struggle with charging their NP.
Triumphant Return of the Sword B
A Burst heal that isn’t dependent on his NP aids Spartacus’ survival further, and a Buster up counters his low stats and gives him decent offense. It heals 2000HP and boosts his Busters by 40% at max, which stacks with his Mad Enhancement EX to a total of 52% Buster up.

Due to Spartacus’ low stats, a QABBB deck with Mad Enhancement EX boosts his damage to the limit of his 1* container, making it a very good deck for a Zerk. Since he has ways to charge his NP outside of attacking, the lack of Arts cards doesn’t affect his overall NP gain as much as it does other Zerks.
After a lot of interludes and strengthening, Spartacus seems like a Berserker that may be worth investing beyond memes. He's not that useful in the beginning, but afterwards, he looks like he can shine... and TRAMPLE THE OPPRESSORS THAT RIDICULES HIS EARLY LOW STATS.
