Thomas Edison like most of the other Caster class servants act mainly as a support but doesn’t really stand up much compared to the other 4* supports due to his situational buffs and low base stats.
Pros
High durability for long battles. Thomas can be suitable candidate to be used in a party that aims to fight a long battle as his NP after completing his Interlude quest has the additional effect of decreasing the enemy's attack and critical chance for three turns. Besides that, his NP also has the effect of being able to lock the enemy’s skills and NP for a turn, which if used at the correct timing is able to save your whole party especially when the enemy has a high damage NP.
Easy NP acquisition and star generation. Thomas’ second skill, Mass Production allows him to gain critical stars and NP charges every turn up to five turns, which allows him to be used as a critical stars supplier when equipped together with the Piece of Year 2030 CE. At max level, it will provide 10 critical stars per turn which is a lot considering that the additional critical stars gained from attacking is not yet taken into account. However, it does have a very long cooldown which is 10 turns at max level so it kind of balanced it out.
Cons
Low attack stat. As Caster class servants in general are much weaker due to having a 0.9x damage multiplier, Thomas himself also does not have any attack buffing skill and his base attack stat is almost at the bottom of the 4* star servant list. Therefore, if you are to fit him into your party, try not to use him to attack and only use his command cards when you want to charge up the NP gauge.
Strategies & Tips
Thomas’ main role in a party is a support but unlike other supports that provide generic attack or defense buff, he specializes in increases an ally’s NP overcharge level by 2, which can be quite a decent damage buff for servants that have damage increase as their NP overcharge effect. Besides that, he can also provides critical stars to the party with his Mass Production skill albeit it does have a very long cooldown.
Noble Phantasm
Thomas’ Noble Phantasm, World Faith Domination is an AOE NP that deals a low amount of damage but its main usage lies within its ability to apply attack and critical chance debuff onto the enemies after use. Besides that, it is also able to seal up the enemies’ skills and NP for a turn, buying your party another turn to take them out before they have a chance to use their NP.
As Musashi’s NP overcharge effect increases her NP damage, it is compatible to be used together with Thomas’ Concept Improvement skill that increases an ally’s NP overcharge by two levels, providing a huge damage buff to her NP.
Thomas is also able to provide a huge damage buff to Gilgamesh’s NP while acting as a critical stars supplier with his Mass Production skill as Gilgamesh has a high star absorption rate.
Together with Thomas’ Mass Production skill, it is possible to provide the party up to 18 critical stars per turn even without attacking and with his low star absorption, you don’t have to worry about the stars will be wasted on him.
As Thomas’ NP overcharge effect scales at 10% per level up to 50% at max, it can be a very useful debuff to be applied on the enemy as 50% decrease in attack for three turns is huge. However, as it is very hard to achieve 500% NP overcharge, this CE can be considered if you aim to use it.
When equipped to Thomas Edison (Caster) only and while the servant is on the filed, increase NP Gain for all allies by 15%

Upgrade priority
2 > 3 > 1
When deciding which skill to be raised first for Thomas, his second skill should be our main priority as even though it still has a very long cooldown of 10 turns at max level, the effects that it provides is too good to be passed up on. Next, we would to level his third skill to increase our allies’ NP overcharge effects while leaving the first skill for the last as the defense buff only applies to himself.

Thomas’ command cards have good NP acquisition due to having multiple hits and by having three Arts cards in his deck, expect him to build up his NP gauge pretty quickly.
