Like with almost every Avenger ingame, Lobo also specializes in dealing crit damage, to make up for the small amount of enemies they can deal extra damage against. Objectively, with his kit Lobo fares better than his peer Gorgon, as he has more consistency when it comes to dealing crits. His ST NP hits decently, and is also a better option in hard fights over Gorgon’s AoE NP. That said, despite his consistency and utility he has his fair share of weaknesses, which hinders him from truly shining exceptionally.
Pros
Good NP damage when buffed by his skills
Can remove an enemy’s buffs
His 2 skills can give him a 70% DEF effect
Skill CDs are consistent with each other
Hitcounts enable him to generate stars and charge his gauge well
Cons
Skill effects’ uptime are too short
Crit damage is too low with his deck and buff
Difficulty in using all of his skills to full effect, as sometimes you would have to sacrifice one effect for the other
Strategies & Tips
As a crit damager, Lobo honestly isn’t anything special. If compared to Gorgon, Lobo boasts a lot more consistency in dealing crits, which makes him easier to work with. But unlike Gorgon, his buffs scale for too low of an amount, and his deck doesn’t allow him to hit hard enough. In other words, even if he does crit, it’s not as if he deals amazing amounts of damage with it. That said, Lobo is far easier to use to full effect, as a lack of damage is far easier to work with than a lack of consistency. As a damager Lobo deals decent amounts of damage on both his NP and crits. With his NP being ST, it makes him a fairly useful damager in hard fights. He also has a good amount of hits and good base gain, which can allow him to charge use his NP at good intervals. His skills offer him good effects and utility, which allows him to be rather flexible in teams. However, there lies a very big problem in his kit in that the amount of time his skills are up is short, and the poor matching of secondary effects with the primary ones can cripple his flexibility. That said, even if Lobo isn’t amazing as a damager, he does offer a good amount of consistency and gimmick-countering utility that makes him worth using even if he is lacking in the damage department. As such, it is best to use him with allies that can support his damage through providing buffs that multiply with his ATK up. Supports that can also produce stars passively or immediately would be a great aid to him, as he has no way of instantly producing stars.
Noble Phantasm
Lobo’s NP hits for decent amounts of damage with his own buff. It also applies sure-hit before hitting, which can offer him a good amount of utility against gimmicky fights. Sadly, instakill as a secondary effect is never relevant nor reliable, so his NP doesn’t do much outside of dealing damage. However, it does hit 8 times, which can be a good way to refund his NP to an extent or for generating stars.
Hans is able to increase Lobo’s survivability through his healing and DEF up. He is also able to passively generate stars, and increase his damage further with his crit damage up and ATK up buffs. His Arts deck can also provide him with first-card bonuses and provide chances for more Arts chains, which can improve his NP gain better. His DEF stacking can also stack well with Lobo’s 3rd skill.
Waver is able to buff Lobo’s offense through his high scaling ATK buff and DEF debuff, and with his crit damage buff. He can also charge his NP gauge directly, which can be a great asset in making Lobo use his NP again in time for his Monstrous Strength’s 2nd turn.
Alexander is able to provide Lobo with a Quick up buff, which can allow him to hit better and charge faster on his Quick cards. He can also form Quick chains and Arts chains with him, and his NP can produce stars for him. Alexander’s ATK up and Quick up also last for 3 turns, which means if ever Lobo is able to NP again on the 3rd turn, one would be able to hit decently hard.
Wu Zetian is also able to buff Lobo’s Quick cards, which increases his damage and NP gain. She is also able to give him ATK ups, and can generate stars for him through Quick chains. Unlike Alexander, she also wouldn’t get in the way of absorbing too many stars from him.
When equipped on Hessian Lobo, Increase Party's Quick Card performance by 10% and NP gain by 10% while he's on the field.

Demonic Fallen Angel A+ / Cooldown: 7-5
Increase own star absorption (1 turn) Increase own DEF (1 turn)
This skill sports great effects that scale to great amounts. A skill that improves his absorption rate aids Lobo’s ability to deal crits effectively, and a DEF up is a good survival function to sustain himself. Sadly, the effects last for only a turn, which means more often than not, you would be forced to sacrifice one effect for the other. Nevertheless it is an important skill for Lobo.
Monstrous Strength B / Cooldown: 7-5
Increase ATK (2 turns)
An increase in ATK is a good skill for Lobo, as it allows him to hit decently hard with his crits and NP. Unfortunately, it scales for up to only 30% at max, which limits his damage to a considerable extent. His deck and lack of other buffs make it so that this skill simply isn’t enough to make him powerful as a damager. The amount of time it’s up, paired with the time his 1st skill is up also makes it rather difficult to use to full effect. Using the skill would usually mean that one wouldn’t have any chances to make use of it on the 2nd turn.
Adorning Death A / Cooldown: 7-5
Reduce an enemy’s Instakill Resistance (1 turn) Decrease an enemy’s ATK (1 turn) Remove an enemy’s buffs
A great utility skill that comes with a good cooldown. Sadly, instakill resistance down is never reliable, but its two other effects are very useful. An ATK down can aid teams in taking damage or tanking NPs in hard fights by combining with other supports, and buff removal can be used to remove ATK up from the enemy, allowing your team to fully tank damage better. It would also remove DEF ups, which would hinder Lobo’s damage. Aside from that, it would also be handy in taking away gimmicky effects like invulnerability and guts.

A QQAAB deck is a good deck for Lobo, as it allows him to generate stars for himself and charge his NP well. However, this limits his damage a lot. Lobo’s ATK up alone isn’t enough to make him hit well on his crits with his deck, and his base gain doesn’t allow him to charge quickly enough to use his NP again within the time his ATK buff is up.
