[JP] Sanson is an awkward Assassin. He has 2 anti trait skills, both of which are only small niches, and even then, he doesn’t perform outstandingly against them. He has a great heal skill and a decent NP, but he’s easily outperformed by other Assassins in damage, which makes his usage rather limited.
Pros
Buster NP can give Buster first card bonus for damage.
Good def debuff on NP to improve his attack.
High scaling anti-trait skills.
Great targetable heal that can remove debuffs.
Cons
1 of his trait niches are small, 1 is useless against Servants.
Damage is weak overall due to Assassin multiplier and low atk stats.
3Q deck limits his damage further.
Needs his NP upgrade to be just decent.
Strategies & Tips
Sanson is a damager Assassin, but due to his low stats, deck, and limited niche, he doesn’t fare too well in fighting enemies. His critgen isn’t anywhere spectacular, and his damage against Evil enemies isn’t that noteworthy. Sanson suffers from the fact that he can be easily outperformed even in his niche by the likes of Kojirou or Jing Ke, for more or less the same costs.
Hans is able to increase Sanson’s survivability with his healing and def buff, and would be able to provide atk buffs, stars and crit buffs to further Sanson’s damage.
Shakespeare is able to buff Sanson’s Busters decently, which would let him deal nice damage on NP. With his 3rd skill upgrade, he can also boost Sanson’s stargen to his max potential, which can let you use Sanson’s QQQ deck somewhat a little better.
Merlin is able to heal, provide stars, increase crit damage, and provide a Buster up for Sanson. Sanson would be able to dish out some good damage when buffed on his crits, and even more towards his niche against Evil Servants.
Giving Sanson crit absorb lets him use his Quick deck more effectively, as it would let him deal decent damage on stars he generates, especially when used with his NP’s def down.
Sanson’s NP deals debuffs the enemy’s defense by 30-50%, and has a low 30-80% chance to instakill the enemy. Sadly, his damage is nowhere near spectacular, and is just on the same level as Cursed Arm Hassan’s NP. However, the debuff down and Buster first card bonus is rather useful to boost his stats and damage, particularly on Brave chains.

La Mort Espoir (Rank A+)
Deals damage to a single enemy. [Overcharge]Chance to cause instant death, and decrease their defense for 3 turns.
Maxing at 60%, this skill may seem good at first glance. But taking into account his stats, deck, and class multiplier, the skill doesn’t boost his damage significantly enough to be worthwhile, especially with a limited niche like Evil alignment. That said, his boosted damage against Evil Servants is still comparable to an SR Assassin’s damage, but it still doesn’t give him much credit when one can simply pick another damager based on counterclasses.
Medicine A+ / Cooldown: 7-5 [Strengthening Upgrade] Restore an ally’s HP Remove debuffs
A great heal skill, and one an uncommon one at that. Heals that can scale up to 3000, remove debuffs, and have 5 turn CD are pretty rare, and with Sanson’s costs this makes it a very nice asset to have.
Human Study B / Cooldown: 7-5 Increase damage against Human enemies (3 turns)
Seems good on paper, but unfortunately, this skill doesn’t work on Servants, because their trait is Humanoid, not Human. It’s useful for only knocking human mobs over, which doesn’t really give it much use overall, even if it scales to 60% at max.

A QQQAB deck is a waste on Sanson, as it limits his damage by being unable to perform Buster chains with his NP. His stargen and NP gain aren’t particularly wonderful on his Quicks, which simply limits his overall performance more.
